AutPlay Therapy Certification Training (non-contact/correspondence)

Description: This training focuses on teaching the AutPlay Therapy treatment approach, a play therapy and behavioral therapy based approach to working with children and parents affected by Autism and other developmental disabilities. Participants will receive a copy of the AutPlay Therapy book, Nuts and Bolts of Autism book, and PowerPoint. An overview of Autism and other developmental disabilities are presented. The tenets of AutPlay Therapy are presented including the four component areas of AutPlay and the sequence/phases of treatment. Parent training, group work, and research are highlighted. Intake and assessment protocols are presented with case examples. AutPlay foundations of play therapy and behavioral therapy are covered and several directive play therapy techniques are presented.

Learning Objectives: 1) Participants will gain a brief overview of Autism and other developmental disabilities. 2) Participants will learn all components of AutPlay Therapy including: conducting an AutPlay Therapy session, directive play therapy techniques related to AutPlay Therapy, assessment and screening instruments and protocol, parent training, and treatment planning. 3) Participants will become Certified Providers in AutPlay Therapy.

Continuing Education: 16 CE Hrs. This certification is appropriate for: Registered Play Therapists, Licensed Counselors, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Psychologists, Certified Counselors, School Counselors, and other Mental Health Professionals.

Additional Information: Once registration payment has been received, participant will be mailed the training books and post exam. Participant will be instructed to read the books and accompanying materials and complete and send the post exam back to Robert Jason Grant Ed.D AutPlay Therapy Clinic. Once the exam has been scored, the participant will be mailed their certification materials. This training is approved for 16 non-contact CE Hrs by the Association for Play Therapy and IBCCES (Certified Autism Specialist and Autism Certificate Credentials).

Play Therapy Interventions for Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (non-contact/correspondence training)

Description: Interventions, interventions and more interventions! If you are looking for play interventions to use with children with ASD and other neurodevelopmental disorders this is the correspondence training for you! This training focuses on Play Therapy approaches and techniques that work well with treating autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. A general overview of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders will be provided. How Play Therapy can be a viable treatment approach for autism is also reviewed. Special considerations in using Play Therapy and in creating directive techniques will be covered. Several directive Play Therapy techniques will be presented. Participants will be shipped the Play Based Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorder and Other Developmental Disabilities book, The Autism Activities Handbook, a PowerPoint, and a post exam. Participants will be required to read the books, review the PowerPoint, and complete and return the post exam. Once the post exam has been received and scored with an 80% or higher, the participant will be emailed a certificate of completion.

Learning Objectives: 1) Participants will gain an overview of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. 2) Participants will learn how Play Therapy can be a viable treatment approach for autism. 3) Participants will learn several Play Therapy techniques to use in treating clients with autism/neurodevelopmental disorders. 4) Participants will learn how to advocate for Play Therapy as an effective autism treatment.

Continuing Education: 8 CE hrs. This training is appropriate for: Registered Play Therapists, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Psychologists, School Counselors, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Special Education Teachers, and other mental health, educational, and medical professionals working with children and adolescents with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
